Customer Testimonials:

"Tonight, I was mugged, just a block from my house in St. Louis. The guy got my phone, which I handed over to him. Then he reached into a backpack for a "gun" I'm pretty sure was a bluff and asked for my purse. I pulled out my spitfire and fired at him instead. I've never seen a man run off so fast in my life. I was safe, my purse was safe. He has my now-deactivated phone, but that's nothing. Thank you and your wonderful product! I'll be buying a refill on Friday with my paycheck!"

Hi,

My name is Frank Povero, and I'm a cop from the San Bernardino area of California. My wife and I were hiking in Glacier National Park this past summer, when we were charged by a young grizzly bear. We have been hiking in the park since 1978, but have never carried bear spray. This year I purchased a can of your product. (batch 011810E2, lot 10SOCH3-88, expiration of 04/2013)

It was late in the day, and we were hiking back to the Many Glacier campground, where we were camped. About 25 yards ahead I saw a bear grubbing around near the trail. I made noise by clapping and the bear saw us. I was taking photos when a young couple with two young children walked up behind us. We all watched the bear and took photos.

Then the bear began to make his way up the trail towards us, which from all of our exposures to bears in the past, was highly unusual. He came to within 10-15 feet of us and was checking us out. We began to yell and clap, but this did not deter the bear. I finally traded my camera for the can of Frontiersman spray.

The bear moved within about five feet from us and locked his stare. I knew from experience that this was probably a sigh of "flight or fight". As we were slowly backing away from the bear, he charged, taking about three rapid steps towards us, and made a huffing sound.

It was at that moment I sprayed him with a good one-second blast. It let out a condensed orange plume and a loud compressed air sound. The spray hit the bear directly in the face. He stopped in his tracks, made an abrupt U-turn, and ran away through the forest. We hurriedly moved up the trail so as not to be exposed to the spray.

Needless to say we were all shocked at what had just happened. We gathered our composure and left the area immediately.

I just wanted to share with you our experience with your bear spray product, and say that it worked surprisingly well. To others, I would certainly recommend that they purchase a can of Frontiersman bear spray before heading out into an area frequented by bears. It really provides both peace of mind and protection.

My best,
Frank Povero
