Over the last year, there have been several stories of how
Pepper Spray has helped women fend off attacks. According to the Chicago Tribune, last June in Arlington Heights, Chicago, a woman managed to use Pepper Spray to fend off a potential attacker who tried to pull her from her car in a parking lot. He tried to grab her arm and pull her out of the car, but she sprayed him with Pepper Spray and he ran away. She escaped, unharmed.
In India last year, an assault on a 23 year old woman who was raped by six people on a bus stunned the nation and prompted a wave of protests calling for better security for women.
Since then, enrollment in Self Defense classes have shot up 40% according the Self Defense School owners. Grocery Stores, pharmacies, and even cosmetic shops in Dehli report that Pepper Spray has been flying off the shelves. Store owners say that is 5 times more than usual.
While Pepper Spray is a wonderful defense tool, you must always remember to use it responsibly; unlike Cierra Bianca Scott in Baltimore, Maryland. On January 14 of this year, she pepper sprayed more than two dozen people at the Arundel Mall. It seems that Cierra was trying to steal a pair of boots when confronted by authorities. She sprayed most of the people in the store as she attempted to escape. Cierra was ultimately apprehended and is facing robbery, theft, assault, and endangerment charges...all for a pair of boots.
Used responsibly and effectively Pepper Spray is a valuable tool to keep women safe.
Some say diamonds are a girl’s best friend...but, diamonds while fabulous to wear, cannot protect you from an attack. May we suggest having two best friends, your bling and a can of Pepper Spray.
