Completing a pepper spray training course is very helpful when learning proper methods and procedures for using pepper spray as a defense. However, how are you supposed to hit the attacker with pepper spray when you are too scared to move? Self defense classes are the perfect partner to pepper spray training. When you learn about self defense, you learn how to fend off an attack and get your attacker in just the right place for a spray of fire.
Self defense classes often include relaxation techniques and training as well as hands on drills. Relaxation is one of the more important tactics to pepper spray training. When an attack begins, you need to be in defense mode with a calm mind and body – otherwise you will never be able to concentrate on self defense moves or retaliation.
Drills are the next phase of self defense classes. Drills often include one-on-one reenactments with the class instructor. Drills typically include mock attacks from all angles and the proper methods of self defense to bring your attacker to the ground. Once on the ground, out comes the pepper spray and off you run to safety.
Every man and woman has the right to defend him or herself with pepper spray. While pepper spray training may help teach about the spraying techniques needed to bring an attacker to their knees, self defense training
will add another dimension of self preservation. There are no textbook attacks so you need to learn how to react in every possible situation.
