On Friday, December 5 in Ashland, Kentucky, My Time salon manager Pam Seward was confronted by two burglars. When the men demanded money from Seward’s cash register, she pretended to reach for her keys but instead grabbed her pepper spray. Seward recalled the incident in
a story for WSAZ News Channel: “Hit him right in the face, right between the eyes. He called me a few choice words. The guy behind him didn’t make a sound, didn’t go for my purse, nothing. They were out the door and gone.”
Seward’s safety mindset and preparedness paid off: The men got away with nothing. Reflecting on the experience, Seward emphasized how important it is to be ready and have a plan in case someone threatens your safety. “You need something, whether it’s pepper spray or whatever,” she said. “I wouldn’t have said that yesterday. But after the experience I had today, definitely keep something in reach to protect yourself.”
With the holiday season in full swing, keep Seward’s story in mind as you’re out shopping for gifts. Some pepper spray or another personal safety product could make all the difference for someone you love. Learn about a SABRE gift giveaway on the
