offers self-defense classes that can prepare you for dealing with an attacker. Here are just a few helpful tips you can start doing today:
- Whether you're walking, running or biking, try to stay in well lit or highly traveled areas to ensure you're not finding yourself alone. Walking in pairs whenever possible is always a great option.
- Be aware of your surroundings - SABRE uses a color-coded system to help define and explain the appropriate level of awareness. In every situation, you should maintain level yellow which is an easy, relaxed 360-degree awareness of your surroundings. If your gut tells you something isn't right - trust it! That's defined as level orange, a heightened sense of alertness when something, or someone, catches your eye.
- Start carrying a personal alarm or a SABRE Red pepper spray product.
The alarm sounds a 110 decibel alarm in hopes the attacker will get scared away, and others in the area will know something is wrong and you need help.
