Self-Defense Starts with Situational Awareness: Know Where the “Safe” Place Is, and USE it -- Part II of II.
Ideally, you want to avoid having to ever use that Pepper Spray in self-defense. Pepper Spray can be a true lifesaver, but that doesn’t mean it has to be our first line of defense. Quite the contrary. It’s no mystery that preventive measures are typically preferable for a whole host of reasons. Knowing where you can quickly find a safe haven can be a lifesaver too.
It is vital to know where to turn or run to if you even suspect you’re being followed or pursued by a potential assailant. If you’re a parent – or maybe a teacher – or a business leader – it’s also vital to education and inform those around you.
Knowing where to turn for a temporary safe haven from a real or suspected threat is important. It could save your life. The same applies whether you’re on foot or in the car.
