Because of the safety dangers alcohol poses, drinking is one of the most notorious and controversial spring break topics. If you're over 21 and plan on having a few cocktails with your friends during your vacation, follow these tips to stay safe.
- Take turns
Plan on having one friend drink minimally each night. That way, you'll have someone to look out for everyone as the party progresses, making sure you all stay safe.
- Watch your drink
A watchful eye is one of the most useful habits to establish! Don't accept a drink that you haven't watched being prepared, and don't pick up a drink you have lost track of for any period of time. Always err on the side of caution - get a new drink if you're in doubt.
- Use the buddy system
You should never grow out of the buddy system! Never leave a party unaccompanied by someone you know and trust. If, for whatever reason, you do leave without your friends, give them details about where you're going and when they should expect you back.
