Bear Grylls Talks Bear Safety with the President

Bear safety was a central topic of conversation between Bear Grylls, famous survivalist, and President Obama on a special episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls.

Obama called his 48-hour expedition with Grylls one of the "best days of [his] presidency," citing the adventure as an escape from the office and its corresponding formal dress.

Grylls gave President Obama a quick overview on bear safety, reminding our Commander-in-Chief that bears are most dangerous "when you surprise them, when they're feeding, when they're eating or when they're fornicating."

Grylls confirmed to a curious Obama that making noise does, generally, ward off bears - but bear spray is his "first and last line of defense."
