HPLC Guarantee for Quality Assurance

HPLC technology is the industry's #1 advantage—and it's exclusive to SABRE.

Our in-house lab eliminates the 30% heat failure rate experienced with other brands (University of Utah).

What does 'HPLC' mean? HPLC stands for high performance liquid chromatography. This technology is the only way to ensure there are no pepper spray failures on the basis of heat inconsistency. The process eliminates the possibility of bad batches. It guarantees the maximum strength of SABRE pepper spray.

We are proud to provide the most consistent level of pungency possible to further increase our users’ safety.

Leakage Testing

Leakage Testing

Leakage Testing

To test for leakage, we submerge all production units in a hot water bath. The thermo-regulated 120° F water increases the canister pressure to 5x the operating pressure. The production units are observed in this bath for five minutes, which is sufficient time to detect canisters susceptible to leak due to component failure.

Our customer's safety is extremely important to us. If a canister does not pass our leakage test, it is immediately removed from production. We want every pepper spray that leaves our factory to perform for our customers.

Temperatures & Test Firing

Temperatures & Test Firing

Temperatures & Test Firing

One of the most commonly asked questions is, is it ever too hot or too cold for my pepper spray to function properly? SABRE runs our products through rigorous testing. We test fire our pepper sprays and gels after they've been exposed to extreme temperatures.

  • Pepper sprays function and fire in below freezing temperatures
  • Pepper gels function and fire at 32°F
  • All products, both gels and traditional sprays, function and fire up to 120°F

This testing tells our technicians that there is no degradation of the pepper spray formula at these temperatures - meaning your product will provide maximum strength stopping power!

"We are constantly testing our formulas to ensure we can provide reliable information about how to best store your pepper spray and how the temperature affects how the products perform."
