Frequently Asked Questions
To help us better help you, here are some answers to some Frequently Asked Questions:
- Can I leave my pepper spray in the car?
Do not store pepper spray in your car. You should not leave your pepper spray in any area that may exceed 120 degrees Fahrenheit, or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Excessive heat or cold may cause the can to leak, burst, or lose pressure. - Can I use pepper spray on dogs?
Only products approved for use on dogs by the EPA can be used on dogs. SABRE Red Protector Dog Spray is formulated to use on dogs and contains the maximum potency allowed by the EPA. - Can I continue to use a pepper spray canister I already deployed?
If you’ve already used the canister, you should replace it. You always want the canister to be as full as possible in the case of an emergency. You would never want to risk not having enough pepper spray if you are faced with a threat, especially if faced with multiple threats (which will require multiple sprays). You can keep the old canister to practice your deployment technique in a safe area (outside, away from others and down-wind). - How strong is SABRE Red Protector Dog Spray and will it hurt the dog?
SABRE Red Protector Dog Spray is formulated differently than human pepper spray to use on dogs and contains the maximum potency allowed by the EPA. SABRE Red Protector Dog Spray contains all natural ingredients and the dog’s tears will flush away the capsaicinoids within the spray causing only short-term discomfort. - Can I use bear spray on humans?
Do not use bear spray on humans. Bear spray is regulated as a pesticide by the EPA and has only been approved for use on bears.
